A Eolaí,

We're eagerly awaiting the performances of the Fuchsia Band and Máirtín's storytelling at the upcoming Chicago Celtic Fest (15-16 Sept). In the meantime, lucky lucky Jackson MS. If the Tardis were working, I'd pop on down. What a line-up!

Ye that will attend, please say hello to my friend Jim Flanagan (ó Hattiesburg MS via Baile Bhuirne, Corcaigh, Éire). He'll be singing as well as offering a Ceardlann na Gaeilge (Irish Language Workshop). And (see Cleaning Up post), he and Justin Murphy have a great rendition of "Mary Ellen Carter" on the Thall is Abhus (Far and Near) CD from 2006.

(Jim, if you're listening, hope to see you and Sally in Madison WI next month - www.celticmadison.org)

I'm excited they are touring again next summer. I saw them in Branson this year and they were fantastic!

I got to witness the legend that is Jimmy Crowley and see Mairtin do a broom dance both in the same night. In a pub no less.

Can life get better?
