" get the very real impression from the video that he doesn’t like Irish music – that he seems hell bent on making a mockery of it and Irish people."

Wow, you get that from maybe 10 seconds of "human bagpipes"? You need more fiber in your diet, buddy, you're full of it!
I've been listening to Shenanigans for years, so I'm admittedly prejudiced in their favor, but I certainly would not have been listening to a bunch of bigots. They have always had fun with their music and encouraged others to do so as well, and never in a mean-spirited manner. You need to learn to lighten up.

To GreenDearth,
DogTree is a new band that formed about two or so years ago. The group has some amazing talent and very good people in it. What you saw and what you described is not what DogTree is or what we would like to be.

I formed this band and yes, I was also in Shenanigans. I can honestly say that it was never our intent to insult or mock anyone, Irish or otherwise. I am truly sorry if we did so.

DogTree does play Celtic music but we are playing other genres as well. I agree that we have a lot of room to grow and that we will have to learn from the good and the bad. I will also say that I have been blessed to work with these amazing and talented people.

I want to thank you for your comments.

Oh no - I'd hoped we'd seen the last of this ass clown.
"Human Bagpipe?" Really? (min 2:50 then 3:08) There were enough tacky adolescent Shenanigans in that other incarnation and this one seems just as bad. I’d bet that he’s still telling racist Irish jokes on stage too.

I really hope this guy will cease the need to coerce KC into believing this is Irish music (by getting Irish gigs.) It’s not. I didn't believe it before, and I don’t believe it this time. I get the very real impression from the video that he doesn't like Irish music – that he seems hell bent on making a mockery of it and Irish people.

I have a solution - don't play it; or, at least stop telling people you do.

Having a last name of Dougherty does not legitimize this embarrassing rennie/carnie, vaudevillian contempt for Irish music. KC needs to stop believing that everyone who claims to play Irish music actually does.
